Libreville Airport flies ahead with Zoeftig’s Contact Plus seating solutions

Located on the West Coast of Central Africa, the Gabonese Republic spans over 267,667 square miles. The country’s main airport, Gabon Libreville International Airport, is located in the capital city and provides a vital transport link for Africa’s residents and visiting tourists.

The airport currently hosts 14 airlines that fly to 23 destinations across Western and Eastern Europe, North Africa, East Africa and South Africa. Libreville’s passenger growth has significantly increased over recent years, leading to the investment in redeveloping the airport so that it can successfully handle over 5 million passengers a year.

Set to open in 2021, the airport will be a transport hub that offers the greatest passenger experience, with Zoeftig’s premium Contact Plus seating solutions specified to provide travellers the highest standards in comfort and quality when waiting to board their flight.

The first phase of the build, which offers a new retail space, was completed in June 2019, along with the installation of 500 Contact Plus seating solutions. Its innovative design offers a wider, deeper seat that is combined with a high back to aid travellers in feeling relaxed throughout the airport.

The airport selected two vibrant shades of blue and yellow upholstery for the seating solution, brightening the interior of the terminals. The colours reflect those found in the Gabonese flag while highlighting Africa’s heritage and energy.

Paul Williams, CEO of Zoeftig, said: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Libreville Airport to provide quality seating during the airport’s expansion period. It’s a real privilege to be able to install our Contact Plus seating solutions throughout the terminals and we’re confident they will handle the increased passenger footfall with ease. We wish the airport all the best for its future and look forward to a long standing relationship.”
