When Birmingham Airport was looking for seating solutions, it looked no further than Zoeftig. Handling nearly nine million passengers every year, Birmingham is the UK’s third largest airport outside London, and when it decided to refurbish its terminal area it knew that help was at hand.
The initial contract was for over 700 Zenky seats in an assorted mix of showwood with and without upholstery and bespoke table solutions.
All Zoeftig products were required to be delivered pre-assembled in order to meet the extremely tight build schedule, which in turn required the use of specialist transport and cargo lifts to bring the seats directly into the departure area with the minimum of downtime. All products were designed, manufactured and assembled in the UK factory and were shipped in reusable crates to fully protect the seating and to ensure that the installation was completed on time and on budget.
The client was so pleased with Zoeftig’s attention to detail, service and product performance that when the new International Pier was commissioned to host Emirates’ business class passengers, it knew that Zoeftig was the only choice.
A further 1000 Zenky seats were ordered comprising standard Zenky with espresso upholstery, plus 32 specially made PRM seats in blue vinyl incorporating the disabled logo, giving the Pier the desired touch of class combined with passenger comfort.
